How To Deal With Snack Attacks

Ever get a snack attack between meals? Who hasn’t? But snack attacks can actually work as an advantage for your weight loss.

Snack attacks are actually a good thing because eating frequently instead of waiting until you’re extremely hungry is a good way to avoid overeating.

It helps keep blood sugar levels normal and brain chemistry in balance.
By pre-planning for snacks and eating the right food you can use snacks in your favor instead of feeling guilty afterwards.

Here is a healthy snack tip. A key to losing weight and keeping it off is eating more negative calorie or fat burning foods with lots of volume but few calories.

Eating fat burning compatible or negative calorie foods creates a calorie deficit that requires your body to use stored fat as energy. Here are a just few examples of healthy snack ideas that are negative calorie foods:

Apples, cantaloupe, carrots, cod, corn, crab meat, grapes, lobster, low-fat yogurt, mangoes, pineapple, raspberries, strawberries and watermelon.

Avoid late night snacks because your body’s metabolism slows way down when you sleep. That means anything you eat just before you go to bed will turn to body fat.

If you eat vending machine snacks they contain high fat and you can forget about reducing body fat because these snacks can sabotage your weight loss quickly.

Also, beverages like smoothies, sweetened coffee drinks, soft drinks, fruit drinks, sports drinks and flavored teas contain a lot of sugar that will end up as body fat.

Snacking on blackberries, peaches or red and green peppers can help you meet your daily recommendations of fruits and vegetables. You need two to four servings a day.

Snacks such as low-fat yogurt or low fat cheese can help you meet your daily calcium requirement. You need two to three servings per day.

Believe it or not, small changes like these can have a huge difference in your weight loss results. Remember, successful weight loss is just a combination of the right choices.

So the next time you have a snack attack at home or at work you’ll know how to use it to your advantage for weight loss success.

Gary Gresham is the author of ‘Fat Burning Secrets’ that gives you lists of negative calorie and fat burning compatible foods that you can buy at any regular supermarket and fat burning exercises that can be done with or without fitness equipment.

Fine Italian Wines for Everyone

Italy is famous for many things, but perhaps it is most famous for its wine. The wines of Italy are almost as varied as the people themselves. Wine is very common in Italy, as are tea and coffee in other parts of the world. There are many different types of wine. The two most distinct classifications are red wine and white wine. There is a lot more to that than meets the eye when it comes to fine wine though. There are table wines, after dinner wines, lighter wine to be enjoyed during the day, the types of wine, whether white wine or red wine, are almost endless.

Almost all wine is produced from fermented grapes. Red wine is made by fermenting red grapes just as white wine is made from fermented white grapes. The red wines are usually heavier, often creamier and richer than their white wine counterparts. After dinner wines are frequently very strong and bold red wines produced with much aplomb. Red wines are served with red meats such as beef during meals. In Italy it is not uncommon to have a glass or two of wine when enjoying any meal.

If you are serving fish, poultry or perhaps pork, a white wine is usually served with the meal. White wines are usually lighter and fruitier than red wines. The white wines of Italy vary region by region and even batch by batch.

While wines are produced in similar fashion, even under ideal circumstances in the fermentation of the grapes, there are variations in the wine production. Something so seemingly unimportant as a change in temperature during the fermentation process can have a noticeable effect on the wine being produced. Probably the best thing to keep in mind when you are sampling Italian wine, is to make sure you find one, whether a red wine or white wine, that you enjoy personally.

Vaughn Balchunas writes about food and health. Great Italian Wines have been with us for thousands of years and now we know that red wine, especially, has some fascinating health benefits.

The Secret Weight Loss Machine

There is a piece of equipment available that has been shown in clinical tests to be unsurpassed for assisting in your weight loss goals - want to know what it is?

The Treadmill - exercising on Treadmills has helped many people to achieve their weight loss goals - and it can help you too.

Treadmills can be used by virtually any age group, and by individuals of any activity level. Treadmills can help you lose weight, and maintain your weight loss.

It really is a numbers game. The more time you spend engaged in physical exercise the more calories you are going to burn and consequently the more pounds you will lose.

If you are searching for fitness equipment that will not only burn fat, but will also raise your metabolism to continue burning fat long after youve stopped exercising, then a treadmill should be at the top of your list.

The treadmill is matchless for cardiovascular exercise. According to a recent study, calories burned on the treadmill for 60 minutes averaged 865 - 705.
Compare this figure to the following:

Stair machine 746 - 637
Rowing machine 739 - 606
Stationary cycle 604 - 556
Cross-country ski machine 678 - 595

As you can see the treadmill comes out as the number one cardiovascular machine.

If you would like to develop your own weight loss treadmill program here are some ideas:

Be creative - make your Treadmill session pleasurable, listen to music or audio books on your MP3 player. Some people prefer to just take the opportunity to think or just day dream. The more you enjoy your Treadmill session, the more likely you are to exercise on your treadmill regularly.

Try to exercise daily. Working out on your Treadmill regularly makes your weight loss goals much more likely to happen than if you are only working out only when the mood takes you. Most people that make the switch will tell you that it’s easier to workout every day. You don’t have to think about whether it’s a workout day or not and get prepared for it - just exercise on your treadmill every day - your body will become accustomed to it. It will soon become part of your routine and you will begin to look forward to it.

Try to mix in some interval training into your Treadmill sessions each week. Interval training consists of brief periods (about one minute) of more intense exercise incorporated into your Treadmill workouts. You may do a one minute interval of faster walking about every five minutes throughout your workout.

Start with a three to five minute warm-up and then five minutes into your walk you do your first interval, one minute of faster walking. At the end of that minute you should be out of breath and ready to slow down. Slow down to your regular walking speed for the next four minutes and then your fifth minute is another one minute interval. Repeat this throughout your workout.

By this means you can increase your aerobic fitness level to the limits of your ability. You are in essence crossing the anaerobic threshold into anaerobic metabolism, this forces your body to accept more intense exercise which will in turn make your weight loss gains more achievable.

By increasing your basal metabolic rate, interval training cause you to burn more calories a day, and make your exercise less monotonous. Interval training also helps the time pass more quickly.

Try walking on your Treadmill with light hand weights of between one and two pounds weight for two to three days per week. Swing your arms and also use a variety of arm movements while walking. This will increase your basal metabolic rate and tone your upper body muscles.

Try to do your Treadmill workout first thing in the day. Most people who workout regularly, do so first thing in the morning. If YOU want to exercise regularly, you are more likely to succeed by being an ‘early bird’

In order to add a bit more variety to your routine set one day of the week aside to be your ‘easy day’. This should be a very leisurely session. Consider how good your walks are starting to feel as you continue to lose weight and tone your body.

You have probably heard the expression ‘if you can’t measure it, then it doesn’t exist’. With this in mind make sure that you record your progress. Record the date and time-of-day of your workout, and the distance and/or time you walked. Record the total of the miles or minutes you’ve walked. Your thoughts or feelings for that particular workout can also be logged.

All of the above measures will help to ensure that your Treadmill Exercise Session is that one special time of day to take care of yourself. Don’t let anyone or anything keep you from your special time with your Treadmill. Working out on your Treadmill every day will help you achieve your weight loss goals and have a positive impact on all aspects of your life, including physical, mental, and emotional health.

If we only consider the issue of weight loss, the Treadmill is significantly superior to any other exercise machine given its associated energy expenditure. While other fitness equipment ‘fads’ gather dust Treadmills have consistently provided quality results and lasting benefits. Treadmills allow you to work at your own pace, but don’t allow you to slack off. You’ll be able to burn calories efficiently and attain your weight loss targets.

You Will Not Be Truly Satisfied Until You Do This…

Filed under: Self-Improvement, Success — Mohamed Tohami @ 8:51 pm

Are you looking for satisfaction and fulfillment?

To be satisfied and fulfilled you must do something you love
to do. But it is not always easy to do that.

You will find yourself drifted away from doing what you love
and do other things to just make a living.

You may be successful but not satisfied and your soul may be
looking for something bigger to pursue.

Without being clear about the reason why you are here in life
you will not feel passionate about what you do and you will
not experience true satisfaction and fulfillment.

Everything in life has a reason for existence. Until you
discover the reason for your existence you will not live a
life of awakened soul.

Without a purpose you will be sidetracked in your life’s
journey. You will drift from your right path and achieve little.
You will not be able to inject passion and enthusiasm in the
activities you do.

Without a purpose you will lose your power in front of
hard times. When you face challenges you need a strong will and a
motivator to help you persist and stand against challenges.
You need a guide to help you decide how to respond to difficult
moments in your life. So, having a purpose and a big dream
empower you against obstacles in your life’s journey.

Without a purpose you will not excel at what
you do. You only become your best when you do
something you love because it reflects your highest talents.
You will find yourself gaining energy from your work and
feel like you want to be working on it forever. And you will
be willing to learn and improve yourself everyday.

Without a purpose you will not be able to give your best and
serve others. When your actions align with your life purpose you
will find yourself automatically serving others.

Having purpose makes it easier to achieve what you want.
Because when you have a clear vision and purpose you will radiate
powerful positive energy that will attract people, resources,
and opportunities that will help you achieve what you want.

Everyday your mind receives tons of information and will
only filter what is important to you. So your purpose will act
as a powerful filter that will fine tune all the information you
receive and select what matches with your life purpose.

Be clear why you are here and discover your purpose of existence.
This will create a meaning to your life and work
and attract all people, resources and opportunities to help
you achieve your goals faster than you can imagine.

Start now discovering the purpose behind everything you do
and live life full of passion and satisfaction.

My friend you can make a difference.

I believe in you.

Tips For Finding London Accommodation

1. Book in advance - Whichever way you decide to go, if possible, book something before you arrive. Not only will your mind be at ease when you get here, but rolling up to a hotel in the rain, laden with luggage, looking jetlagged and pleading for anything resembling a bed, brings out the inner sadist in even the most empathetic hotel desk clerks and you will pay for your indiscretion.

2. Websites - Try searching for discount accommodation rates for thousands of properties on websites all over the internet. Many of them have great deals.

3. Bed & Breakfast - B&b is a very British way of enjoying home-away-from-home accommodation. Agencies such as Bed & Breakfast GB, London Homestead Services, Host & Guest, Uptown Reservations and Welcome Homes offer small guest-houses or rooms in houses with families Some are centrally-located and others in the ‘burbs, but all provide a warm welcome to those who stay. Bed & Breakfast GB also offer the benefit of allowing children under 7 to stay for free in any of their properties. Alternatively, if you want to stay somewhere dirt cheap where someone else does the cooking, just turn up on the doorstep of those friends you haven’t spoken with since they arrived unannounced at your place five years ago.

4. Apartments - If you are staying in London for longer than a week, it’s worth looking into renting an apartment. They are generally not as well located as hotels, however, prices can start from around £250 for week with the added bonus of a small kitchen where you can cook your own meals.

5. Stay outside city center - Accommodation is less expensive if you are prepared to stay outside the city centre. One of London’s most active pieces of real estate, the Docklands, near Canary Wharf, offer a growing number of hotels at amazingly good value to go with the waterside restaurants, concert-hall and shopping outlets. Here and in other easy to reach locations such as Greenwich, Kew and some central locations as well, you can find hotel chains such as Formula 1, Etap, Ibis - all part of the Accor Hotel group; Travel Inn, Travelodge and Holiday Inn Express. Many of these en-suite rooms sleep up to four from £27.50 to £83 a night. You might find that you can’t have breakfast slid under the door (not really recommended unless you are having pancakes anyway), but there is usually something available in the café next door, or from the hotel bar. Either way, they make for a rather attractive option for the budget conscious slumberer.

6. Top End – It may be that splendor, opulence and hedonism are at the top of your accommodation agenda. In which case, London’s duchesses of luxury such as The Ritz, The Connaught, Claridge’s, and The Dorchester will serve your needs handsomely. These hotels epitomize the elegance, grandeur, and snobbery that you would demand from a place where the front desk clerk looks down his nose upon anyone that dares to ask what the cost of the suite might be, wondering how on earth such a vile creature made it past the doorman. Although eye-poppingly expensive to the frugal tourist, even these properties bow to the age of technology on occasion, so check the latest deals available through online vendors before you book - you could save hundreds of pounds without having to face the wrath of that snooty concierge.

7. Backpackers - If you enjoy sleeping with groups of people, London has a swath of backpacker options - some great, some not so flash. The Piccadilly Hotel, near Piccadilly Circus, is a backpackers’ dream, with dormitory beds available at £12 per night, including breakfast and linen. There are also twin and family rooms, too; a lounge with 100-channel TV, an internet suite, and the chance to mingle with a stream of fascinating people who have seen more countries than hot showers – often quite literally. Others include the St. Christopher’s Inns group with its flagship hostel on the South Bank, The Generator near the British Museum and is definitely a fun place to stay - its bar offering nightly entertainment.

8. Check the room size – Someone once said (not sure who, but more than likely they were small and male), it’s the quality not quantity that counts. Maybe so, but at some point lack of endowment begins to get laughable, especially when the quality is nothing to write home about. This can be the case with some cheaper London hotels. Whereas a 3 star hotel room in many countries will usually be large enough for two double beds, some of London’s older basic hotel rooms look like they were prototypes for jail cells with little light, a small monitor into the upper corner of the room pretending to be a TV, and barely enough room to click a mouse let alone swing a cat.

9. Bathroom situation - Most rooms will feature an en-suite bathroom or shower with WC (which stands for “water closet”, an English term created to avoid the embarrassment of having to say “toilet”). However, check before you book as some smaller B&B’s only have shared bathrooms, which means you have to run down the hallway – of course you might find that an exciting option.

Eye On I-9

Filed under: Business, Management — Les Gore @ 6:58 pm

A few weeks ago, I helped facilitate a peer-to-peer conference on HR Strategies on behalf of The New England Mail Order Association (NEMOA). NEMOA was formed in 1947 and is one of the nation’s oldest and largest professional organizations dedicated exclusively to the catalog industry.

In attendance were human resource and senior management professionals, representing catalog and e-Commerce businesses, both large and small.

One of the subjects discussed at our meeting was I-9 Employment Verification.

The new I-9 Employment Verification legislation is on the verge of passing in Congress, so I thought it would be a good time to give the subject a closer look. It’s a process that’s long overdue for establishing viable work eligibility in the U.S. And with some forward thinking on the part of management, and those responsible for human resources, it should be good news for a smooth, compliant transition.

Mandatory employment verification on the horizon.

Direct marketing organizations, like all businesses, have been collecting I-9 information since the original Immigration and Reform Control Act (IRCA) of 1986, which made it illegal for employers to knowingly hire unauthorized workers.

Although your attention may be focused on your hourly workers—typically high turnover individuals working in warehouse, distribution and contact centers—all employees must meet the same scrutiny.

Part of the IRCA created the I-9 document and the verification process employers must follow today in order to avoid sanctions. This verification process consists mainly of a physical review of identification documents (e.g., a social security card and a driver license) to establish both the person’s identity and the individual’s authorization to work in the U.S. In the 20 years since passing of the IRCA, the process has changed very little; however this basic and manual process has inherent issues that can result in applicant fraud and error.

Recently, the topic of immigration, and specifically illegal aliens, has reached a fever pitch. With the coordinated immigration protests across the country on May 1st as one of its high points, the U.S. government has been looking at the employment eligibility issue for some time. It has recently taken steps towards addressing the current challenges.

Step #1
In December 2005, the House took action to minimize illegal immigration by taking the first steps to tighten border controls and stop illegal aliens from obtaining employment in the U.S. The bill includes statutes that require, within two years of the legislation passing, all employers to perform an employment eligibility check directly with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for all new employees, or face civil or criminal penalties for hiring illegal workers.

Step #2
In April 2006, the Senate responded to the House bill by sending a bill (S.2612) to the floor called the “Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006.” If passed, the DHS and the Social Security Administration (SSA) will be required to implement a countrywide I-9 Employment Verification database and process. The bill also establishes steep civil and criminal penalties for noncompliant employers.

What does this mean for you?

You would still be required to obtain a signed I-9 form, backed by supporting documentation, from each new employee. What’s new is that you would be required to also submit the new hire’s information to the DHS verification system within three days of hire. Also, the law provides for reassessment of all employees through the system, regardless of hire date, to ensure eligibility to work in the United States.

How does the DHS I-9 Employment Verification work?

The new hire’s information is sent to the DHS database and the system verifies eligibility to work in the United States, verifies that the name and Social Security Number match, verifies the Social Security Number for wage reporting purposes, discourages the use of false documentation and levies penalties for the violation of hiring and/or employment eligibility laws.

What if the result is negative?

If the DHS search returns as a non-verification, the new-hire must be notified that their eligibility status was deemed non-verified and be given the opportunity to contest. If the applicant does not contest in the time allowed, the non-verification will be final. If they do contest, the verification will remain tentative until that time the eligibility is deemed either verified or non-verified under further review.

Who must conform?

Until the new law is passed in Congress, I-9 Employment Verification is currently available in all 50 states on a volunteer basis. If a company decides to participate in the volunteer program, it must screen all new-hires in a search conducted post-hire, within three days of the employee’s start date.

While the program is still voluntary until the act is passed, you can count on the fact that the government is serious about illegal immigrants and establishing a program to ensure that work eligibility verification will happen soon. There’s every reason to believe that some version of the “Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006” will exist and companies should start planning to implement an I-9 verification program in the near future.

Budget Traveling - Doing More With Less

There is a common misperception that you have to be rich to travel. With the proper research, travel plans can be made for your domestic vacation holiday or international destination without having to spend a small fortune. Travel can be very cheap, often at or below your budget.

If you are going to travel to a domestic location for your vacation holiday, try searching for hotels and motels outside of the immediate area. If you are going to drive or rent a car during your vacation, you should try looking outside of the immediate area of your vacation location. Quite often, a few short miles away from your destination will allow you to save literally hundreds of dollars a day, often saving enough money to pay for a good rental car. Budget hotels and motels are common today. With a little searching you can find another way to save money by using one of the budget motels or hotels.

The food at any vacation resort is almost always over priced. It is easy to save a lot of money when taking this into consideration. Most of the budget hotels and motels have refrigerators, coffeepots and even sometimes small kitchens that make it more comfortable to travel. If you can find a budget hotel or motel that offers these amenities, you can buy the food at a grocery store just like home. Purchasing and preparing your own food while you travel can help you to greatly increase your budget for having fun.

Try to travel during off-peak hours or travel days. Usually airfare and even rental cars are cheaper if you purchase them on a Tuesday or Thursday, instead of traveling on weekends or holidays like so many people do.

While you will still need money to travel, it can be done on a tight budget and you can still save money and have fun during your vacation holiday.

No-Fault Car Insurance

Filed under: Car-Auto, Insurance — Micheal McGrew @ 4:13 pm

No-fault auto insurance opponents frequently argue that no-fault may ultimately lead to higher auto insurance costs by reducing drivers incentives to drive carefully and thereby increasing the accident rate.

The intuition behind this criticism of no-fault is simple: No-fault auto insurance lowers the cost of driving negligently by limiting first-party liability for the injuries suffered by third-parties in auto accidents.

Several reports evaluate this criticism of no-fault by examining trends in fatal and non-fatal automobile accidents rates and rates of driver negligence in the United States between 1967 and 1989. Contrary to some earlier research, reports finds no evidence that the adoption of no-fault auto insurance between 1971 and 1976 in 16 states increased fatal accident rates in those states.

No-Fault auto insurance has been a major debate in state legislatures across the nation. With mixed feelings, consumers are both scared and interested in the consequences inhert in no-fault car insurance.

Reports also finds no correlation between the presence of no-fault auto insurance and a state’s overall accident rate or rate of driver negligence. The raise of no-fault insurance comes from a consumer need for lower insurance premiums. Finding a low quote is easy, lower your car insurance today and start saving money. Visit

Bullet-Proof Your Real Estate Investing

Filed under: Real-Estate — Jeanette Joy Fisher @ 3:16 pm

Everyone knows that making a mistake in a real estate investment can be costly–or even disastrous. However, there are ways to bullet-proof your investing. Here are a few tips on how you can do it:

Employment Conditions

When you look for properties, either avoid altogether or be very cautious if the area’s economy is largely based on just one employer. If that employer shuts down or cuts back drastically, that entire area’s real estate market will be dramatically affected and you could get burned.

One exception to that rule would be a town that is home to a large, old, and well-established university. Such an establishment will have a steadying effect on the community that surrounds it, and there will always be a need for the many employees and students who are associated with the university.

Stick with Proven Strategies

If you’re not a gambler, it’s best to stick to investing in tried-and-true single family homes. There’s always a market for them once you’ve fixed them up and are ready to resell. If you plan to rent your investment property out, single family homes are the easiest homes to rent, assuming they’re not too expensive.

Guard Your Money

Always maintain a reserve fund, because unexpected things WILL come up as you go through the rehab process; that’s just part of the investment game. If having to pay for an entire roof, including the sheathing, will mean that you can’t pay your own mortgage that month, you’re too close to the bone. You must make sure that an unexpected expense isn’t going to sink you.

Know how much you’re going to make when you make your offer. Although we’ve just established that things will come up that you can’t predict, you should know what the house will sell for before you make any kind of an offer. That way, you can build in a cushion that will assure you of making a profit, even when the unexpected takes place.

Plan Ahead and Act Quickly

Get through the rehab process as quickly as you can. That way, you won’t be surprised if the economy takes a downturn later on. You know what the economy and market are like at the time of purchase, and you want to be able to sell under essentially the same conditions. That will take a big load off your mind.

Educate Yourself

Become an expert in a particular area and type of home. That way, you’ll eventually get good enough at knowing what homes are selling for so that you can make your offers quickly and as accurately as possible. Quick action gives you an edge over any competition you might have when it comes to making bids on properties.

Whoever said ‘knowledge is power’ knew what they were talking about when it comes to buying and selling real estate.

Quickly Discover - What Is This Thing Called Yarn?

‘This funny thing called yarn? Just who can solve its
mystery? Why should it make a fool of me?’

Oh, I could go on and on singing Cole Porter’s hit
song, but you get the picture! You can substitute the word
‘yarn’ for ‘love’ and feel just as confused. Knitting can
do that to you; ‘yarn flew in through my window, I was so
happy then’.

Been in a yarn shop lately? Leafed through a knitting
magazine? Got your heart set on the perfect pattern for
you, only just why is it telling me to use a sport-weight
yarn and, what is that anyway?

Just like material,– cotton, wool, knits, blends,
silk, taffeta, linen, – yarn comes in a variety of
different styles and types. Some yarns are great for
certain projects, other yarns will be disastrous. With all
of the yarns available today, either in yarn shops or
online, it’s a good idea to arm yourself with a little
knowledge. After all, a little knowledge goes a long way!

The following is a list of the most popular yarns that
you will encounter with patterns today. Whenever you choose
a knitting project, there will always be a suggested yarn to
use. This information will be at the top of the instruction
page, under ‘materials’ along with needle size, length or
size, gauge, and sometimes a manufacturer’s specific yarn
brand.

Please keep in mind that yarn doesn’t grow on trees
looking like that. Yarn comes from fibers; anyone who uses
a spinning wheel can tell you all about how yarn is spun
from rough fibers. One strand of spun yarn is called a
single. When singles are formed together they create a ply
or plied yarn. Two-ply yarn is formed of two singles, and
so on. Most yarn used for knitting comes in 4-ply.

Just look at the label around any skein or ball of
yarn, and you will find the ply number there. When you
knit, you use the yarn as is; in other words, you don’t
separate plied yarn, as you would in needlepoint or crewel
work. (In fact, some patterns call for using more than one
strand of yarn at a time.)

So without further ado, here is the list:

Worsted weight yarn - this yarn is the most popular you
will see! It can be used for just about anything you have
in mind. Sweaters, scarves, afghans, shrugs, vests, all do
well with worsted weight yarn.

Sport weight yarn or DK (double knitting) - this yarn
is a tad bit thinner than worsted weight, but again it is
used for many projects; usually you will see the DK
abbreviation in British publications. You can knit afghans,
baby projects, or a whole host of other items with this very
popular yarn.

Sock, Fingering or baby yarn - this sounds just like
it is. Very soft, pliable, this is also great for any baby
or toddler pattern. Great for delicate items, too.

Cotton yarn (also mercerized) - cotton yarn is easy to
knit with. I use it for placemats or other kitchen or bath
items; you can knit vests, or a more sturdy outer garment
with it. If cotton yarn says ‘mercerized’ this just means
it has extra strength & shine.

Fisherman or Aran yarn - this yarn is thicker than
worsted weight, and is used in heavier sweaters or even
afghans. The word ‘Aran’ is from the Aran Islands, which
are just to the west of Galway Bay in Ireland. Aran
patterns abound, and they are most beautiful.

Chunky or bulky yarns - these yarns are, you guessed
it, chunky and bulky! They are often a challenge to knit
with and require strong fingers. They make for wonderful
outer garments, such as shrugs, vests, even sweaters, and
will keep you warm.

These are just the most popular yarns you will run
across in knitting projects. There are many, many more. In
fact, many untraditional materials are now being utilized;
you can knit with string-like yarn, eyelash yarn, ribbon
yarn, as well as delicate, thread-like yarn for more
intricate, or openwork patterns.

Yarns can often be combined with each other, for
unusual effects; a strong yarn can be paired with something
wispy and the results are fantastic! The absolute explosion
of yarn texture, color, and variety are unlike anything from
the past.

No matter what you’re knitting, there is a yarn for
you! So, just like ol’ Blue Eyes, you can say ‘you gave me
days of sunshine, you gave me nights of cheer, you made my
life an enchanted dream’…….

And you know what, – you will have discovered this
thing called yarn!!
