Cosmetic Dentistry - A Primer for New Patient

Filed under: Beauty, Health-and-Fitness — Eriani Doyel @ 11:09 pm

Cosmetic dentistry is becoming an increasingly more popular field as people try to improve their looks by improving their smile. Cosmetic dentistry can be as simple as teeth whitening, or it can be as complex as years of orthodontia and braces. If you are considering having any work of this type done, you should educate yourself on the procedures as well as how to pick a dentist who specializes in cosmetic dentistry. Here are a few of the basic terms and procedures that you should know:

Teeth whitening: You have probably seen over the counter products for this, but for those who are not happy with those results, you can visit a dentist and get this cosmetic dentistry procedure done. Some dentists will perform the procedure in the office while some will give you a kit to use at home. See which method is best for you.

Bonding: This cosmetic dentistry procedure is when the dentist applies a permanent material that is carefully colored to match to a tooth that has a crack, a chip, or some breakage on it.

Enamel Shaping: The dentist smoothes and shapes the rough or uneven surfaces of the tooth to make it more even-especially in the cases where a tooth has been broken or damaged. This is often done in combination with bonding.

Veneer: A veneer is a shell that covers the front of a tooth that is discolored or misshapen or it fills a gap between teeth.

Braces: Braces are one of the most expensive cosmetic dentistry procedures. Children as well as adults can get braces in order to correct crooked teeth or an over or under bite. Sometimes this is a recommended procedure because of other problems associated with having crooked teeth.

To choose a cosmetic dentist you should make sure that they not only have a license but also that they are certified to do cosmetic procedures. A dental license does not guarantee that the dentist has had the appropriate training and experience to do cosmetic procedures. You can also ask the dentist as well as friends and family for references and referrals.

Hamster Care Requirements

Filed under: Pets — Michael Russell @ 10:48 pm

Hamsters are the most popular rodents kept as pets. They are extremely easy to tame and take care of and are relatively inexpensive animals. Hamsters are a suitable pet for almost any household; children can even keep them!

There are many different types of hamsters: large, small, patterned, solid colored, longhaired and shorthaired. The most popular hamster is the Syrian. It is the largest variety and comes in either longhaired or shorthaired. The longhaired Syrian hamster is often called the ‘Teddy bear hamster’. There is even a hairless Syrian! It also comes in many colors such as golden brown, white, cinnamon, cream, rust, gray, lilac, honey, yellow and black. An adult Syrian hamster reaches a length of six to eight inches.

The next most common hamster is the Dwarf Russian. It only reaches a length of three and a half to four and a half inches. The smallest hamster is the Roborovski. It is only two inches when full grown. The main difference between the Syrian hamster and other hamster species is that Syrian hamsters must be kept alone and the other species can be kept in groups. If Syrian hamsters are kept together, they will fight and can become seriously injured or even killed. You must keep only one Syrian in a cage.

You can buy hamsters at a pet shop or from a breeder. Make sure that the place you get it from spends lots of time with the hamsters and that they keep males and females separate. Hamsters can breed at a very young age so if you get a female hamster from a place that does not separate the males and females then you will probably be getting a pregnant hamster.

The hamster itself is usually very cheap. The cage and accessories make it more expensive. There are many types of hamster cages available at pet stores. Just make sure you get a cage enough space for the hamster to exercise and explore. The cage should also have a wheel in it so the hamster can get the activity it needs. When you get the cage, do not put it in direct sun or in a drafty place.

You will need to put shavings on the floor of the cage. Do not use cedar shavings because they contain oils that can hurt the hamster. Good materials for the shavings include pine, aspen, paper, or pulp. Your hamster will make its bed from the shavings so make sure you put enough in the cage for that.

There are many other types of accessories that you can buy for your hamster. Try to give some things made out of wood so your hamster will have something to chew on. This is good for their teeth. You will also need to provide food and water at all times. A water bottle works best for water because it will not be tipped over or get dirty like a water bowl will. There are many types of hamster food mixes that you can feed to your hamster. Just make sure that it is available all the time.

Once a week you should thoroughly clean the cage and change out the bedding. Make sure you clean all the toys and accessories as well. Rinse the cage completely so that no soap residue is left behind.

If you do these simple things, this will keep your hamster happy and healthy. They are very fun animals to watch and play with. They will surely keep you entertained!

Article Writers: Three Ways to Turn Your Resource Box Into a Traffic Magnet for Your Business

It’s very easy to write and upload an article to a directory, add it to your blog or website, publish it in an eZine or email. It’s a little harder getting people who see and read your article to read your resource box and respond in a way that generates traffic and makes money for you.

Everyday techniques like adding your email address and a mention of your web site are very important but very often people jot down the details and promptly forget about them, or write them down incorrectly and that’s even worse than not writing them down at all.

These are the best ways to turn your article’s resource box into a traffic magnet for your business:

1) Add a question to your resource box that can only be answered by contacting you or visiting your site or downloading a free report, etc.

Examples:

* That’s ten things you may not already know about AdSense, but if you want to know the number one, absolutely tops, no doubting it, THE Very Best Way to Double Your AdSense Income, email me at BLAHBLAH and you’ll have the answer in seconds. (For an article about AdSense but could be adapted to suit almost any subject).

* Want to know more about the Public Domain, such as which writer’s books fell into the public domain today and can now be used as content for your web site or even reprinted and sold as eBooks? If so, and you’d like to know about another 100 writers whose work has just entered the public domain, download my free report BLAHBLAH at www.hereswheretogetit.com (Again, about the public domain but can be adapted to suit most subjects).

2) Offer something valuable for free, such as a special report on the subject covered in your article or an eBook rebranded with your affiliate details. Get people to sign up for your newsletter to obtain the freebies, or give download details in your resource box and let readers download the eBook with your affiliate links embedded and wait for cash to pile into your bank account.

3) Make your article a multi-part feature, such as Part 1, Part 2, etc., or by inviting readers to visit your site for more information about the subject.

Examples:

* Part 2 of this article can be viewed at www.mysite.com

* Contact me for Parts 2 to 10 of this article which you’ll receive daily by autoresponder.

* Search this article directory for other parts of my article on BLAHBLAH. (This is the idea I like best because one long article can be cut into numerous parts, some publishers will download all parts for their promotions, meaning one lot of research and writing material can generate multiple incoming links for your site).

Seminar Expert Reveals A Solid Way To Build Your Consulting & Coaching Career

I was teaching my “Building Your Consulting Business” class at UCLA Extension and one of my participants asked whether it is better to simply devise and conduct seminars or to consult, to coach, to offer specific tips to businesspeople as individuals.

Sensing he had already made a decision about this, I asked his view and he said, “I’d rather do seminars because you’re not really responsible for on the job results; it’s less stressful.”

Of course, he’s right.

If you have packaged a well received seminar, it can almost work for you on autopilot. Promote it properly, get through the topics as planned, collect your check, and be on your way.

When I first started out in my own business, this is exactly what I did, quite profitably, and when I itched to do more, or to break the monotony, I expanded my menu of classes.

But I always wondered how my information was faring for people back at their jobs. Were they working the plan, as we had planned the work?

I decided to poll participants by phone, about two weeks after sessions concluded, and I was treated to an interesting fact.

Yes, they loved the class, but no, they really hadn’t employed a lot of what they learned, just bits and pieces.

And to prove the point, they recited what pieces they found most useful.

So, I reached a decision point in my consultancy: Should I continue offering public seminars, or bring my courses onsite, and add a “coaching” component as well as performance measures to assure that ideas translated into action?

I opted for the latter, and yes, it ushered in more stress, but a lot more satisfaction, too.

Although I was tentative at first about making the transition, I found it gave me a lot more confidence, ultimately. Instead of telling seminar participants, “This works for me and for others, so it SHOULD work for you,” I earned the right to assert, “If you do this, it WILL WORK FOR YOU!”

Bold stuff, isn’t it?

I went from offering information, to advocating it, and then to implementing it, and finally, I was convinced enough of its value that I could GUARANTEE RESULTS when my methods were employed.

In a sense I evolved from a seminar entrepreneur and trainer to a consultant-coach to a work process manager.

Instead of changing individuals, I began to change entire working units, and then the profitability of companies, directly.

This sort of evolution won’t happen by itself. Just as my student suggested, you need to make a choice about the challenges you’re suited for, and go from there.

But I hope my example shows you that there is also a career track that you can develop for yourself, one that increases your responsibilities, and rewards.

Cosmetic Dentist - What to Look For

Filed under: Beauty, Health-and-Fitness — Eriani Doyel @ 6:24 pm

Are you looking for a cosmetic dentist to whiten your smile or perform some other cosmetic dental surgery or procedure? It is important that you choose a cosmetic dentist carefully, because your smile is one of your most important assets. The things that you should look for when choosing a cosmetic dentist are: proper training and education, good patient success rate, and that you are comfortable with them.

In order to practice any type of dentistry, technically all you need is a dental license. But, there are professional dental organizations which provide additional training and certification for the various dental professionals-such as a cosmetic dentist. When you are choosing a dentist you should make sure that they have the professional training that is required and that they are in good standing with the State Licensing Board. If there are any complaints against the dentist of your choice, check to see if they have been resolved and how they were resolved.

You should definitely find out if the cosmetic dentist you are looking at has experience in performing the procedure you are going to have done and if the experiences have been successful. One way to do that is to ask to see an album of before and after pictures of patients who have had your procedure done or a similar procedure done. You can also ask for references to contact. Friends and family may also be a good resource for cosmetic dentist referrals. Ask if they would use the dentist again and what they liked and didn’t like about the dentist if anything.

Sit down with any dentist that you are considering and ask any questions that you may have. Some sample questions include: How long will the procedure take? How many visits will it take? What discomfort can I expect, if any? What is the recovery time? Make sure that the dentist is aware of your goals and expectations for the procedure and that they agree with them. They should be honest with you about the outcome. Almost any dental procedure will cause some pain and discomfort even if it is just momentary.

Women Issues - Fibroids

About 20-30% of women will develop fibroids. By the time women reach their 50s, a whopping 80 out 100 women will develop fibroids. Fibroids or uterine leiomyomata, are growths or tumors made up of muscle cells and other tissues that grow within the wall of the uterus. They can also grow on the inside or on the outside of the uterus. Fibroids are sometimes called tumors but are mostly benign or non-cancerous. Fibroids can vary in size; they can be small like a pea or as large as a small melon. Many women do not even know they have them.

Women who are in childbearing age can develop fibroids. It has been shown that African-American women have a higher risk of developing fibroids. They also tend to get fibroids at an earlier age than other ethnic groups. There is a slightly higher risk for women to develop fibroids if they are overweight; however, if you have had a child, you risk may be lower.

Fibroids often do not cause any symptoms, and that is why most women do not know they have them. Symptoms can also be mild, such as a heavier period. The fibroids may be large enough to press on organs, and then they may start interfering with your life. Symptoms then may include a long gushing period and a lot of cramping. Sometimes women feel a sense of fullness in their belly. They can get low back pain and pain during sex. Sometimes they get an urge to urinate often.

If you have fibroids and get heavy bleeding during your period, then it could lead anemia. Anemia results from a lack of iron in your blood. Suffering from anemia can also make you weak and tired. Sometimes, having fibroids may make it more difficult for you to get pregnant. They may also cause problems during pregnancy, such as a miscarriage or premature labor.

Doctors do not know for sure what causes fibroids. There are some theories, but researchers think it may be a result of many factors interacting with each other. The factors could be hormonal, genetic, environmental or maybe a combination of all three factors. Since they do not know what causes the fibroids, they also do not know how they grow or shrink. Most of the time the fibroids shrink after menopause, but not all the time.

Fibroids are usually diagnosed after taking a history of complaints from the patient and then doing a pelvic exam. The doctor may measure the size of your uterus. They may say you have a uterus the size of a 12-week pregnancy. An ultrasound may also be performed. Some doctors request a CT scans or a MRI. The doctor may also need some bloodwork to be done to check for anemia.

Treatments for fibroids vary. If the fibroids are not bothering you, then you do not need any treatment. You will be checked at your regular visits to see if they had gotten bigger or smaller. If the symptoms are bothersome, then you may want to think about surgery. You will have time to think about your options since fibroids grow slowly.

Women Issues - Tips for Enjoying Summer

Enjoy the outdoors. With so many things to do outside, take some time out of your busy schedule by hiking, playing some sports or even walking. The outside fresh air is good for the body, helps you clear your mind, and ultimately lifts your spirits. Just remember to use sunscreen to avoid being burned, and wear a hat and sunglasses if you are out in the sun a lot. Having a heatstroke or a burn is no fun.

Get your toenails painted. If you think your feet look ugly, just paint your toenails and see for yourself. It is like giving your feet an instant makeover. Painted toenails makes your feet look pretty. Just go to your nearest drugstore or any store that sells nail polish and pick up a nice shade of color for a couple of dollars. Try putting a ring around your toe to add extra glamour.

Eat fresh and healthy fruits and vegetables. Even if you live in a concrete jungle, there is bound to be farmer’s market. These people sell products fresh from the farm. The freshness you get out of these vegetable and fruits is worth the extra dollar or two. Not only will you be eating fresh but also these foods are high in fiber, minerals, and vitamins. This nutritious diet helps your heart and lets you lead a disease free life style.

Invest in a sundress. Many shops sell sundresses, so take your time, and buy a sundress that fits your body style. If you cannot find one you like, just get your sewing machine you can stitch in yourself. Sundresses are often easy to make. You will be surprised how many times you wear it. It does not matter whether you are in working in your garden or working in the kitchen. The comfort and freedom the sundress provides is priceless.

Wear light makeup in the summer time when you are outside. The heat and humidity will make a mess of your face if you are still wearing heavy makeup. Instead, try lightening your makeup by putting on your face some bronzer in place of foundation or any other oil-free products to fight shine. Let your inner glow shine through, be carefree, and try going out with very little makeup as possible. Add some color to your wardrobe when possible. After wearing the black and beige all the winter, try wearing some bright summer shades. Add tops that contain solid colors or bold patterns to your wardrobe. Summer is all about wearing playful, light, and easy colors so go wild and try a bright color to work.

You can enjoy summer season ever year by following the listed above steps. Do not spend another summer hiding your feet or body just because you think you are not beautiful. If any friend asks you to join them in some outdoor activity, go out and have some fun.

Chinese Food - Do You Want a Fortune Cookie With That?

Do you love Chinese food? If you do, you are not alone-it is one of the most popular ethnic cuisine choices out there. But, while fortune cookies are delicious and fun, they are not real Chinese food. What is traditional Chinese cuisine? It is as varied as the country is big. Every region has its own specialty dishes that make it unique and different from the others. However, there are some basic “rules” for what makes Chinese food traditional.

Starch is the main dish in a traditional Chinese food meal-unlike in the United States and many other Western countries where meat is the main dish. Although many Chinese in southern China eat rice as part of their daily diet, in the northern parts of the country this is not the case. It is not uncommon for Chinese food to have wheat flour noodles or a steamed bun as the main component of the meal. Side dishes can be meat (beef, pork, or chicken), fish, cooked vegetables or soup. Sometimes soup or rice is reserved to the end of the meal as kind of filler.

When you sit down to a meal of traditional Chinese food, you would be given chopsticks and an individual bowl of noodles or rice. The rest of the food dishes would be placed in the center of the table and shared. You would not serve yourself a portion and put it on your own plate-you just eat right off the plate with your chopsticks. This is one reason that many times, the food is served in small pieces-so it is easy to pick up off of the plate with the chopsticks. Tea is offered with the meal as well-cold drinks are not traditional.

Dessert is usually a very simple affair-it could be plain fresh fruit, or fruit with a sugared glaze. Sometimes they also serve a simple rice pudding-but none of the traditional desserts are rich or extravagant like the ones we find in some other types of cuisine.

Dishes from the Sichuan (Szechwan) region are usually spicy and Mandarin are more common. Take a culinary trip to China.

Internet Marketing, The Main Source of Traffic

For a successful internet marketing strategy one must first have a product that they can market and a website to promote that product on. From that point on internet marketing takes over. The purpose of internet marketing is to promote a product in the most creative means possible.

The first step is to get the website of the product some traffic. The best way to accomplish this is to get the website on some search engines. Having your website come up in a search will do wonders. Make sure to think of as many keywords as possible to allow your website come up. Another good way to produce more traffic is to recruit affiliates, having them add links to their websites that will bring them back to yours. You can go to specific businesses that you know of already or use databases that have companies listed with them that are willing to make new affiliate relationships.

If your website is kept in your customers mind this will bring more repeat traffic. To do this, send a newsletter out to them, monthly at the very least, reminding customers that your website is still up and running and you are more than happy to do business with them. Use some of your favorite websites as examples. What is it that they do to get you to keep coming back to them to give them your money?

If things still seem a bit hazy there is always the option of internet marketing courses. Many of which are offered on the internet. In these classes a student will learn the ins and outs of terms, plans and little known secrets of the internet marketing world. At the end of the courses a student should be fully prepared to take on the challenge that lies ahead of them.

There is always the option of having someone do the work for you. There are several internet marketing agencies out there that will think of strategies of ways to promote your growing business. Some will even test your product with a consumer panel to best optimize your business.

Through imaginative internet marketing your business will flourish. It just takes a little ingenuity to get things off and running and before you know it your business will be booming.
