Google AdWords - a Good vs. Bad Campaign

Google AdWords ads connect you with new customers at the precise moment when they’re looking for your products or services. According to Google, the Google Network reaches more than 80% of Internet users.

With Google AdWords you create your own ads, choose keywords to help match your ads to your target audience and pay only when someone clicks on them? this is what is referred to as ?pay-per-click? advertising.

Google AdWords is a perfect way to advertise, if done correctly. Many companies waste hundreds or thousands of dollars every month on ?unwanted clicks? that are not truly generating ?targeted clicks? for their business.

If setup correctly, Google AdWords can be a great resource to reach hundreds or possibly thousands of users looking for your exact product or service, which will lead to increased sales. The key word here is ?exact?. I have found that through my experience of setting up Google AdWords campaigns for my clients, the best successes have been generated by the campaigns that use very specific keywords rather than generic or broad keywords when describing a product or service.

Also, it is very important to analyze if your product is local, national or global. Google AdWords allow you to only have your ads displayed for your selected areas. You can specify a single state, and entire country, multiple countries, or the entire Internet world; it?s completely up to you.

Let?s take an example to help paint the picture of what not to do. Say you were a real estate agent that sold commercial real estate only in New Jersey. If you purchased keywords like ?real estate? and had them displayed throughout the US, then those would lead to what I refer to as ?unwanted clicks?, causing you to pay for unnecessary visits to your site.

What should be done is this; first, the keyword ?real estate? is too generic and does not specifically describe your service of selling ?commercial? real estate. Secondly, you should only have your ads displayed for New Jersey Internet users only since this is the only state in which you sell commercial real estate. A much better version of this would be to purchase a keyword like ?commercial real estate? and setup your ads to only display in New Jersey, hence leading to targeted clicks.

Does this make sense? The overall goal of Google AdWords is to direct ?targeted clicks? to your website and that is how you should look at it 100% of the time. The goal should not be to acquire as many visits to your site as possible but instead, to acquire the best quality of targeted clicks. As I stated before, Google AdWords is pay-per-click advertising so you should only focus on having keywords that will direct ?targeted clicks? to your site, this way you pay for these clicks and not the ?unwanted clicks?.

If done incorrectly, Google AdWords can cause you to unnecessarily spend precious marketing dollars. But if done correctly, Google AdWords can allow you to open your doors to a whole new means of selling your products and services online.

Google AdWords is a must have in your arsenal of advertising campaigns. So be sure to focus on your product and service and fully analyze what your target audience will be searching for on the Internet. This is what should be your list of keywords?. It?s that simple!

I wish you all the best of luck advertising your products and services.

Discover PPC Ads That Don’t Require Cash Payment

There is no doubt that PPC (pay-per-click) ads are here to stay. Don’t forget that they are the main basis of the colossal amounts of profits and loads of respect that Google Inc. has earned within its’ very brief period of existence.

One of the main reasons why PPC ads are irresistible is because they pay for themselves and one requires only a small initial investment and a little skill in the use of keyword phrases. It is even better if you have additional skills in the area of creating catchy headlines that will attract a good number of clicks from the targeted market. Armed with this many people have built multi-million dollar online enterprises from scratch within a very short space of time.

But a new breed of online entrepreneurs are doing even better by using PPC ads that do not require any cash investment or any payment of sorts. The work and time one needs to put in creating them pay for these PPC ads. Admittedly the combination that works best is where folks combine these free PPC ads with similar types of PPC ads where only one initial payment is made.

The powerful free PPC ads I am talking about are of course promotional articles that have one way links pointing straight at your site. Just think about it for a moment Adsense PPC ads are really links you purchase that point to your site. Now the PPC ads that are promotional articles are even more powerful because of various reasons. The most obvious is the fact that done properly, they will tend to pre-sell your offer and will therefore receive a much higher response rate. Actually test after test by various online marketers has confirmed this fact.

Don’t Click On That Ad, It Could Melt Your Computer

Today so many industries use spy ware programs as a way to advertise. These programs are designed to be click on or automatically re-rout you to the advertisers website. Other types of programs are the annoying pop ups you get on your computer screen. Some of these programs are capable of tracking which keys you type thus for computing exactly what you are saying or typing.

This is how hackers are able to obtain your private and personal information. With programs such as these you may not know who has your personal information or even worse what its being used for. It is annoying, but being educated on the signs of spyware and how to protect yourself from it is a great way to keep yourself safe from the hassles and fears of these malicious programs.

There are several ways to know if you have spyware on your computer: You continue to get tons of pop ups even when your pop up blocker is activated. When you put in a specific website you are redirected to a different site. Also new and unexpected icons on your tool bar can be a sign of malicious software. You may experience lagging due to these programs and the computer trying to process all of the information. This lagging can be stopped by practicing good protection against viruses. There are many anti spyware programs but some viruses may bypass these programs.

So to keep you and your computer safe from the hassles of spy-ware here are a few easy tips. Don’t click links in a pop up box because in most cases these are malicious and may automatically download to your computer with or without your knowing. When closing a pop up box refrain from pushing anything inside the pop up box itself this could again download a program without you knowing it. Try to push the red X and if you want to refrain from touching the pop up box then right click the pop up box and click Close. If an error message comes up that you are not familiar with click the X or NO.

Only if you know what the pop up box is can you click yes. But sometimes familiar looking error messages are just concealed spy-ware. By using these tips you can keep your computer and yourself safe from all of these malicious programs. Now you can defend yourself from the Internet at least a little bit and go back to enjoying the comforts of the Internet.

Making Good Money Using AdWords

I want to give you the bottom line right here at the start:

Anyone (that means you!) can definitely make money using AdWords. And if you know some of the insider tips, you can make a lot of money. Because Google is responsible for delivering relevant search results to more Internet users than any other search engine, your ad will been seen by more people if you list it on Google as opposed to other advertising mediums.

But while it’s certainly possible to make good money with AdWords, you can also lose your shirt if you don’t know what you’re doing. This is what many of the popular AdWords books don’t tell you, but it’s absolutely true. Playing the AdWords game can be risky if you don’t know what you’re doing. But take the time to learn the basics plus some insider tips and you’ll be well on your way to replacing your current paycheck.

Speaking of insider tips, let me let you in on a few right here for free:

1) Write your ad emphasizing the benefits of the product or service, not necessarily the features -

A benefit is something that can be afforded to you by using the product or service. For example, if you’re writing an ad pitching the latest lawnmower, don’t write about how great the blade is (feature), but the effect that the great blade will have (’you will become the envy of your neighbors’).

2) Be as specific as possible in writing your ad -

People are sick of generalities. What the heck is a generality anyway? People want to know exactly what they’ll be getting into if they use your product or service. So, don’t just use general words or terms that can also be attributed to other products and services. Rather, list out benefits that are unique to your product or service.

3) Experiment with different bid prices -

Many people assume that they will get the most traffic by being in the number one ad position. While this is sometimes true, it isn’t always. Your ad copy is actually a more important success factor than your ad position (read that sentence again and let it sink in). You could very well be overpaying for your position, so keep tweaking your ad by ’split-testing’ it against another, and gradually lower your maximum CPC (cost per click) as you get more and more clicks.

I hope those insider tips are a help to you, and don’t be afraid to experiment. AdWords success usually doesn’t come overnight (no matter what anyone tells you), but stay the course and I guarantee you can make money using AdWords if you’re willing to learn.

If you want to know all the insider tips, this book is the one to get. Everything I learned about AdWords is from that guide.

Good luck!

How to Test Your Ads Before You Go Big Time

Google Adwords make mature Internet Marketers salivate. A great Subject Line starts the money rolling in. Everyone says the secret is in the Subject line.

So How Do You Tell If You Have a Great Subject Line?

You can spend quite a bit of time, and not an inconsiderable amount of money testing various subject lines in Google. The Net is awash with strategies on how to test Subject Lines with Keywords, and how to hone everything into laser-sharp targeted ads. Perfecting your skill requires persistence, patience, and money.

However, if you are like me, with a limited budget to spend on Google Adwords, you might want to consider and alternative method.

Free classified Ads

Don?t roll your eyes. Free classified ads have brought me in many leads. Using Free Classifieds serves many purposes all at once.

  • It’s Free

  • You get your name out to new audiences and new markets
  • You get to post your url all over the Internet
  • You can test many different subject lines and track the results
  • In the process, you might hit pay dirt by finding sites and opportunities you may never have otherwise discovered.
  • Here?s My Method Of Operation

First, I write up a dozen or so subject lines I like and want to test. (Watch for my article on finding unique subject lines.) Then I do a simple search for free classifieds. When you do your search, don?t just use Google. Google is great, don?t get me wrong, but other search engines use different approaches to listing sites. Since everyone is using Google, you might have better luck with Alta Vista, or Yahoo. What did they teach you in University? Don?t go to only one, reference source, use many.

Now armed with my list, I begin to log into these sites and post my ad. I keep an Excel spread sheet open with column headings like; Site Name, Site url, User Name, Password, Subject line of ad, Tracking url and a comments column.

A tracking URL is essential to finding out, which ads are working. Many companies out there that offer this service. I use the same excel spreadsheet to track the results. Once you isolate an ad that is really pulling, your next step is to take it to Google Adwords where you can develop a campaign for that Ad.

    Revamping Failed Ads

Have you ever created an ad the prefect ad only to find it sucked big time when you tested it? Well with this system, you have the opportunity to play with the ad, change the word order, tweak a phrase, and find another site to test it. All at little or no cost. The difference between a successful ad and a failed one may be one word. Remove a ?the?, or change its location. Bingo, your ads hot. Why?

If I could answer that question, I would write the book and retire.

Hope this helps you find the Holy Grail of Marketing, a successful Google Adwords campaign.

    Making Money with Google Adwords

With just over 70% of the search market Google dominates the world of internet search theses days. It is little wonder that a majority of internet marketers and entrepreneurs keep their eyes on whatever Google is doing today and speculate on where they may go in the future.

With the advent of Google?s two flagship money making endeavors, Adwords and Adsense, Google was not only able to become a multi-billion dollar company they also enabled the world of internet marketing to become a viable route for anyone who has the drive and willingness to make a good amount of money, many times replacing their normal income 3 or 4 times over.

    What is Google Adwords?

Google Adwords is a pay-per-click advertising system that Google uses as its main source of income generation. In the pay-per-click system an ad is placed and appears for certain searched for keywords. The advertiser is charged every time his ad is actually clicked by a searcher. If the advertiser has done his work right this click will turn into a sale which should more than offset the cost of the click.

The nice thing about the Google Adwords advertising system is that an advertiser?s ads can run continuously and cost very little money. It also makes it easy to place ads that are very specific to whatever the product is and thereby further limit the cost.

    How does Google Adwords Work?

Google Adwords is an auction type system. Advertisers bid on keywords that they believe will bring buyers to their web pages. The higher the bid the higher up the Adwords listing that advertiser?s ad will be placed. There are a couple of other criteria besides bid amount that affect ad placement as well.

One is the click through rate of the advertiser?s ad. Also known as CTR this is the percentage of clicks an add get in relation to how many times it is shown for that keyword search. The higher the CTR the higher an ad can rise in the listings. A high CTR can also help lower bid price.

The other important criteria are the quality or relevance of the web page the ad is pointing to. This ?Quality Score? is assigned by Google through their search algorithm. It is believed by many experienced internet marketers that the quality score is based on how ell the content of your web pages matches with that of the keywords they are bidding on and the ad copy itself.

Where do the Adwords Ads Appear?

If you d a search on Google you will notice that on the right hand side of the page there are eight ?sponsored listings?. These are the Adwords ads. If you find one that interests you and you click on it, it will take you to some sort of web page, usually to a product that you can buy that is specific to the search you did. When you click on that ad Google charges the advertiser for that click. This can be anywhere from 5 cents to more than 50 dollars.

This is where ?Return On Investment? (ROI) comes into play. The idea with Adwords is to make more from the sale of goods than what it costs to advertise. A good marketer can easily obtain an ROI of 200-300%, or for every dollar they spend they get 2 to 3 dollars in return.

    Affiliate Programs and Google Adwords.

An affiliate program allows just about anyone the opportunity to make money using Google Adwords. Quite simply an affiliate is a sales person for someone else?s products. With Google Adwords an affiliate can place ads that link to a merchant?s website. If this merchant is part of an affiliate network or has an affiliate program the affiliate get a percentage of anything they sale via their Adwords ad.

There are quite a few affiliate networks on the internet today that list tens-of-thousands of merchants and their products. It is easy to sign up with most affiliate networks and begin promoting the merchants who they represent. One could, if they were very motivated sign up with several merchants and have ads up and running in one day. This is not the recommended way to start as an affiliate but it does show how easy ads can be placed once you get the hang of it.

At the end of the day, Google Adwords is a viable tool that can be used increase traffic to one?s e-business. By minimizing irrelevant clicks and targeting those who are truly looking to purchase a product or service, an internet marketer can assure the profits they collect would be much greater than the costs they have to pay for each click on their Google Ad.

    Using AdWords To Make Money

    I love AdWords.

There are many reasons why, but you know what my favorite thing about AdWords is? It’s the fact that I can see results quickly from my efforts. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against traditional search engine optimization (SEO) at all. I love getting free traffic (who doesn’t), but the fact is that you have to wait a long time if you want to have any chance of ranking on the first page of Google for the free (organic) listings. This is not the case using AdWords. In fact, I can create an ad and sometimes in as little as 2 minutes I see the ad show up in the search results.

Now guess what happens when you create ads for products or services that people want and get those ads in front of thousands of eyeballs per day? You get traffic, of course! And when you’ve got the traffic, you’re going to get your share of sales. It’s just the law of averages (or ‘conversion ratios’, as they say in the business). Using Adwords to make money should be a part of every marketer’s strategy.

Another great reason to use AdWords to generate traffic and sales is the fact that AdWords is not as prone to algorithm changes. You see, Google often tweaks their organic search listings algorithm, to keep people like me on our toes. After all, if you can ‘crack the code’ to reliably getting on the first page of the free listings, then AdWords revenue would certainly dry up! But of course Google is smarter than that. But that’s okay, because using AdWords to make money has many other advantages as well, including the fact that I as an advertiser control what my ad says! Don’t discount the benefit here–with the free listings, what gets returned in the listing ’snippet’ is not always predictable. But if I put an ad out there, I can make it say whatever I want provided my ad falls within the acceptable Terms Of Service (TOS).

Let me sum it up for you: Using AdWords is a smart business move on your part, because you get more control over how your content appears in the listings, and, most importantly, you get results quickly.

Results = Traffic + Sales, which is the winning formula you need!

By the way, to learn all the strategies that the top Internet marketers use to win at AdWords, you really need to check out this book. I know of no other guide that is so transparent in sharing with you the closely guarded AdWords secrets that make all the difference in the world.

    Pay Per Click Advertising

Advertising has gained tremendous importance in the marketing arena. Newer avenues have emerged giving much more than just the awareness factor to be looked upon. One such arena for marketing where advertising is gaining ground is Internet marketing. Many advertising techniques have come up for web based marketing or advertising projects. One of the Internets advertising techniques is termed as PPC or Pay Per Click. The Pay Per Click technique is primarily used for websites, search engines and advertising networks.

The idea behind the PPC technique is very simple yet effective. Advertisers in order to make their advertisements seen by people offer them money to visit their website and click on a particular ad. This in turn generates revenue for the advertising companies. With search engines, Pay Per Click advertisements are usually some text ads that are strategically placed near search results; when a site visitor clicks on the advertisement, the advertiser is charged a small amount. As the number of clicks increase, the revenue for advertising companies increases.

In today?s tough competition, the major players in this segment include Google AdWords and Yahoo search engine. As per the usage of the Pay Per Click facility, these are classified into three types of engines. These classifications are given as ?keyword?, ?product? and ?service? engines. According to the nature of the job, these classifications differ. Normally the rates for Pay Per Click campaigns come to around $0.01 per click, but biger search engines pay upto $0.5 per click. Though it generates a small amount for the person who earns via PPC, it proves useful for people who spend around 4-5 hours on the net.

The very heart of Pay Per Click advertising lies in the keyword search. When a prospective client searches for a particular word or phase, a list of advertisement links appear. Clicking on any one of them increases the visitor count for that particular advertisement and thus creates revenue for the advertising company. Thus, every advertising company wants to be in the first few search counts that the user sees.

Almost the same kind of structure follows for the other two classifications. Pay Per Click is not just restricted to local advertisers. It is done on a large scale to increase the number of clicks in a single day. Nowadays many companies exist that provide Pay Per Click advertising. Judging the best out of them is a real concern for companies these days. Many of them exist only on paper and thus can be cause of fraudulent activities. You need to be extra careful while choosing a advertising agency for such advertising campaigns. For those of you who want to make some money by clicking on ads, it provides a good opportunity to earn some extra income.

    9 Adwords Tips

When using AdWords, many people think that since they’ll be spending money, they HAVE to get it right the first time. Well, getting any internet marketing stuff right the first time is going to be hard, so I’m going to give you some tips that I didn’t learn until i was well into the AdWords program. Maybe you already use AdWords? Maybe you don’t. But I’m sure you will learn something from this Tips list. So here it goes.

    1) Capitalize the first letter in every word. Studies show that if you do this, it makes it appear better on the eyes, and you will be more inclined to click. Capitalize the URLs words too. It helps to seperate them out.

    2) Use the keyword in your Title. If you can use it in the title, it will appear bold (as will it if it is in any other part of your ad copy), and since the title is read first, you’ve got a better chance to get clicked on.

    3) Only use one keyword per ad copy. I don’t care if your word is ‘clock’ and the other is ‘clocks’, modify the existing one to say ‘clocks’. The more relevant the better, and Google likes it more. Relevancy is Google’s main cocern.

    4) Avoid long URLs. Face it, it’s more appealing if an ad says, ‘www.TheRichJerk.com’ than, ‘http://www.therichjerk.com/blog/2006/06/08/
    rich_jerk_goes_hollywood_1.html’ Catch my drift?

    5) Ask questions. Adwords like, ‘Want To Get Rid Of Rust?’ will usually do better than, ‘Get Rid Of Rust’.

    6) I’m not going to expose this, but if you don’t remember what the Rich Jerk says, review the eBook again, because he has a really good ad section. I’ve used it and profited big time from it. The structure of his ads are great, and definitely consider using his AdWords idea.

    7) Test and retest your AdWords. I typically go 3 days with one ad copy, see how it goes, then go another 3 days with another ad copy. This is an on-going process, so set up a spreadsheet and document everything. How many clicks you got, how much you spent, Cost Per Click, Dates the test was ran (some people search more certain days of the week), sales/clicks (depending if you are running affiliate codes or AdSense), and anything else you can think of. The more you write down, the better.

    8) Use the word ‘Free’ or ‘Trial’ wherever you can. This is one of the most powerful words ever. Consider it.

    9) Don’t bid for the extremely expensive keywords. Instead, start with the smaller ones, then work your way to the top. Especially when you are trying to get ranked by Google, it is important to tackle the smaller, less searched words, then go up the line getting the larger words. This is the same for AdWords. So look to the smaller words, then go up. Don’t start at the top, you probably won’t stand a chance.

Dan is vacationing in Europe as a result of his internet marketing. He won’t be available for a while, so he’s set up a website for Rich Jerk Members. However, his website contains very important information that cannot be posted here. If you struggle with Internet marketing, this could be the most important thing you ever read: Danny Relic’s Secret Website.
